On February 16, 2024, the Law of Ukraine No. 3528-IX came into force, which legalizes the cultivation and circulation of cannabis for use in medical, educational, scientific and scientific-technical activities. This regulatory legal act makes amendments to the main laws regulating the circulation of cannabis in the Law of Ukraine "On Narcotic Drugs, Psychotropic Substances and Precursors" and the List of Narcotic Drugs, Psychotropic Substances and Precursors, as well as other legislative acts. It is worth noting that the entry into force of Law No. 3528-IX will take place on August 16, 2024. This period is provided for the development of new regulatory legal acts in this area and bringing into line those already in force. The adoption of the law on the regulation of medical cannabis will significantly improve the provision of quality medical care for patients with oncology, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, etc.
